Five for Friday!!!!

Hey everyone!

I can't believe how fast my first week of summer has gone by so I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to share my week.
fiveforfriday

I can't complain because I started my weekend and Memorial Day in Charleston. I love Charleston! The weather is always amazing, the food is yummy, and it is just beautiful! It is definitely one of my favorite cities!

On top of all of that....Tanger Outlets! (Too bad I only had an hour to shop :-( ) I did make it count though! I definitely need to go back before going back to work!

This week I have had fun revamping clipboards. It has been so easy using Mod Podge! I have been surprised because I am not crafty at all but I have loved how they have came out! These are going to be my beginning of year gifts for my teaching buddies! I hope they like them!

Also, I found a wreath that I wanted to make on Pinterest. It didn't come out the way I thought it would but I still loved it! Like I said I am not crafty but I have been trying! It looks better in person :-)

This week has been so nice just being able to clean, cook, read, and work on new projects. I even added a freebie on my TPT store and Teachers Notebook store. Just click below to download it! Enjoy your weekend!

Five for Friday (Last Full Week)

Holy Moly,

I am one tired teacher but I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching!
fiveforfriday
This is our last full week!!! We have only two more days with the kiddos and then three post-planning days. Every day this week we have had an activity and I am exhausted!

Monday: Sidewalk Chalk
Tuesday: Bubble Day
Wednesday: Watermelon Day
Thursday: Beach Day
Friday: Water Day

These are our students' gumball machines (I took a picture of their unfinished ones and forgot to take a new one) and watermelon crafts. We also gave our students these cute end of year gifts---a sand bucket, beach ball, sunglasses, The Bravest Fish book, and summer writing freebie from Freebielicious (love, love, love!!!!)

Is it crazy to anyone that we are ending our year while preparing for the new one???? Here I am cleaning up and thinking of what needs to be done for next year all at the same time!  Here are some new writing anchor charts from Deanna Jump and Deedee Wills that I worked on (awesome units)!

As the year is wrapping up, I want to take a minute to thank my parent volunteers and my co-workers for a great year! I love these women! They are an amazing group to work with! Feeling blessed!

My students' fingerprints turned into cute bugs! We then filled it with candy!

Oven mitts that say "I must ad-"MITT" that I have loved working with you this year! Have a great summer!" I am adding it as a freebie. Just click on the pic or here! Have a great weekend! Don't forget to link up and leave a comment!

Sunday's Let's Get Acquainted Linky Party

Hi everyone! Happy Mother's Day! I hope everyone enjoyed their Sunday celebrating as a mom or with their mother. This has been a great weekend celebrating with my mom. We got our hair did :-), mani and pedi, shopping, and dinner. It was just a fun day! Before I go to bed, I wanted to link up with Flying into First Grade. Don't forget to link up!

1.  What made you decide to become a teacher?
As a little girl, I always played "teacher" especially being an only child. However, growing up I wanted to be a pediatrician or go into neonatal nursing. Luckily, I realized very early on that nursing was not for me. My friend was finishing up her teaching practicum and suggested I go observe a classroom. Needless to say, I ended up loving it. I am so happy that I listened to her advice and followed God's direction in my life because I love teaching!

2. What has been your most rewarding experience as a teacher?
I teach kindergarten so most of my students do not know how to read and write. Therefore, getting them to read and write is probably the most rewarding experience. I just love seeing them become independent and doing their own thing without my help. They love being 1st graders in training!

3. If you were not a teacher, what would you be?

Many people don't know this about me but I LOVE anything that has to do with fashion. I would love to work at a fashion magazine or something related.

Well have a good night...I only have 7 more days!!!!! I think I can...I think I can....

Five for Friday

Hey everyone!

I can't believe we have only 7 days left with our kiddos. This has been the longest and craziest week yet! Of course, what to do on Friday night.....link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to share my week! Don't forget to link up and leave me a comment!!!
fiveforfriday

1. We began our week with Mother's Day activities. We made flowers, cupcakes, books, poems, etc. Here is one of our thinking maps. Don't you love inventive spelling!
2. Next we worked on typing up our writing pieces on our friends. Each student got to pick a friend and write about that friend. Then they got on Starfall and made a picture of their friend. Let's just say that I am glad that there were 3 adults and 4 fifth graders to help! This has been one of my favorite writings! However, I can't take credit for this great idea. One of my co-workers came up with it!

3. I hope everyone got to enjoy the TPT sale for Teacher Appreciation Week. I got some great units. I wanted so much more though :-(

Staying Fit For First       Kindergarten Morning Work - Daily Language Arts and Math Review      Kindergarten RTI: Letter Recognition & Identification

4. In addition to my TPT shopping, last night I got to go to a Pampered Chef/Bridal Shower. Let's just say that it got to be a little expensive but everyone needs cookware right????

The Pampered Chef, Ltd.

5. To finish off my week (in addition to all the sweet treats I got this week from my kiddos) my co-workers/friends surprised me with celebrating my birthday a month early. I was just so surprised. I never get to celebrate my birthday at work. These are the best cupcakes, Snickerdoodle (one of my friends made them)! They smell and taste so yummy!!!!

Well enjoy your weekend! Happy Mother's Day to everyone! Don't forget to link up!

Currently....a little late!

Hey everyone!

I am a couple of days late but it is better late than never. I am linking up with Farley from Oh' Boy 4th Grade for May Currently. Here it is:

Listening: I love Project Runway and I am finally listening to their Reunion show! Some of them are just hilarious!

Loving: I am a HUGE Sophie Kinsella fan and she came out with a new book Wedding Night. If you love to read, check out her Shopaholic Series.

Thinking: I can't believe there are only 12 more days of school left. Time sure did fly by!  There is so much to do but I have been organizing and getting ready for next year!

Wanting: I have been so busy and sick (unfortunately) that the hubby and I haven't been able to take a weekend trip anywhere. I am so ready to get out and go somewhere different even if it is for the weekend! I just want some down time!

Needing: More TIME!!!!!! The end of year is always so crazy. You are trying to wrap things up for this year while getting things ready for next year. It can be overwhelming but that is when  you take a step back and enjoy your time with your kiddos!

Summer Bucket List:

1. Europe!!!! If I can (health-wise) we are planning a summer trip to Europe which I am praying that will go through. I can't wait if it does happen.

2. Beach Trip! The hubs and I love the beach and I can't wait for the summer to enjoy a trip to the beach!

3. I love to read and can't wait to do that this summer. It is hard to read during the school year when you have a million and one things to do!

Well I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday! Don't forget to link up even if it is the 5th!
